Brooklyn Borough Hall was packed with more than a thousand New York City bodega workers and other local business owners who came to protest President Trump’s executive order blocking people from seven majority Muslim countries as well as refugees from entering the United States.
“We’re here to protest, pray and show that we are part of the American dream,” Eric Adams, Brooklyn Borough President said.
The event was organized by the Yemeni Business Association and started with a call to pray and was followed by people telling their stories of how the ban had impacted them and their lives.
